Off the tourist crowds: Our colleague Laura on roadsurfer vacation in Italy
July 30, 2020This is how holidays in Corona times should look like: without contact to crowds as in the train or plane, not even contact to staff and other guests in a hotel, and on top of that climate neutral. What more could you want!
We decided quite spontaneously for a roadsurfer campervan and just drove away. From Munich across the Brenner Pass – that's how holidays started in my childhood, too. The first cappuccino on the Italian side, and nothing can stop our good mood!
For one week we now have our accommodation right with us wherever we are. For the first night we decide to stay at a camping site in Malcesine at Lake Garda. When waking up the next morning we feel as if we were right at the lake. Just before breakfast, we bring our SUPs into the water, the Vento – the typical morning wind here – has already calmed down, the windsurfers are packing their equipment again. Perfect for our morning sport round!
The next days will be quite similar: we are always where we want to be in the morning. We start the day with a view of the mountains, lakes, forests ...
The roadsurfer vans are well equipped, the kitchen has everything we need. The best thing is that the VW bus still fits into a normal parking space, which helped us a lot, for example in narrow city centers like Riva del Garda!
What I, as a ClimatePartner employee, like most of all of course is that Roadsurfer has already compensated for all the emissions we have caused through fuel consumption. In this way we have supported our wonderful carbon offset project in Portel in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest. By this, we were on the road in a climate-neutral way: climatepartner.com/12677-1801-1001
