Minimalist, timeless, durable: Fair fashion by SANVT

SANVT fair fashion

The textile industry is one of the most CO2-intensive sectors in the world. From the production of raw materials to the disposal of clothing, large quantities of emissions are generated that have a major impact on the climate. The Munich-based fashion start-up SANVT shows that there is another way.

SANVT was founded in 2018 by brothers Benjamin and Felix Heyd with the vision of offering high-quality basics for everyday wear. The company focuses on the combination of minimalist design and exceptional quality standards.

Short, transparent supply chains and durable materials

The focus is on sustainability. This begins with the design: the minimalist year-round collection is independent of fashion seasons and trends. The clothing is produced entirely in Europe. This means short delivery routes, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the products. In addition, the transparent supply chain ensures that the production meets SANVT's high quality and sustainability standards through the careful selection of production partners.

The company focuses on durable products and avoids the use of synthetic fibres and blended yarns. Most of the primary materials are of natural origin and biodegradable, and the fabrics are dyed without harmful chemicals or heavy metals. On top of this, all textile production facilities have closed water cycles and recycle 99.9% of the wastewater produced.

The paper packaging is made without environmentally harmful microfibres, and to avoid unnecessary waste, customers will not find any hangtags on SANVT garments.

By avoiding expensive shop rents, intermediaries, and discount campaigns, SANVT can offer its essentials at fair prices. A particularly innovative feature is that the size selection takes both width and length into account. This means that the fashion is not only fair regarding the climate, but also takes all body types into account.

Ambitious targets for reducing emissions

For even more engagement, SANVT decided to implement the five steps of climate action together with ClimatePartner. Above all, transparency is an important value for SANVT in order to give customers an insight into the measures taken to reduce their own carbon footprint.

SANVT is a ClimatePartner-certified company. Most of the product line, including T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, shirts, trousers, shorts, jeans, knitwear, and accessories are also ClimatePartner-certified.

To achieve this, the company set itself targets for reducing CO₂ emissions after calculating its carbon footprint: a reduction of 10% in Scopes 1 and 2 and a reduction of 20% in Scope 3, in each case from 2023 to 2026.

SANVT is also supporting a climate project that combines a certified wind energy project in Turkey with a regional project that supports global climate action as well as nature conservation in Austria.

SANVT makes its climate action and sustainability strategy transparent on the climate-ID pages for the company and its products as well as on its own homepage

"The fashion industry has many negative effects on our environment – with SANVT we want to do our part to change that. That's why we are working with ClimatePartner, who enables us to get one step closer to this goal."
